A LECTURE ON TALL BUILDING DESIGNBY ASST. PROF. PATRICK D’ROZARIO

A lecture on Tall Buildings Design and Special Considerations was delivered by Asst. Prof. Patrick D’Rozario (BUET) on 01 January 2026 for the 3rd Year Design Studio of the Department of Architecture, MIST. The session provided an in-depth discussion on fundamental design principles, structural systems, environmental responsiveness, and contextual challenges related to tall building projects.

The lecture offered valuable insights into the complexities of high-rise design, including issues of form, massing, structural efficiency, sustainability, and urban integration. Through examples and critical explanations, students were able to better understand the relationship between architectural intent and technical constraints. The session greatly enriched the academic exposure of the students, helping them develop a more informed and holistic approach toward designing tall buildings in contemporary urban contexts.
